| Ronald Ross Short Listed For Sunday Mail and sportscotland Award. | |
| 26 November 2008 The Camanachd Association has announced that Kingussie's Ronald Ross has been short listed in the amateur sport category for this year’s Sunday Mail and sportscotland Sports Awards. The Awards will be hosted by one of Britain’s best sportiung commentators, Suzie Perry, who will share the stage with various Sporting Heroes as they celebrate excellence in Scotland’s sportsmen, women and teams during 2008. Ross is closing in on an incredible 1000 goals in his top-flight shinty career and seems sure to reach this milestone in the 2009 shinty season. Ross scored 71 times for Kingussie in 2008 and was a major player as Kingussie won the Marine Harvest National Premier League with a perfect 14 wins from 14 league matches. He is a Development Officer for the Camanachd Association, based in the North, and facilitates and promotes activity in relation to participation and performance at club and school level within the North. He also supports youth shinty initiatives across Scotland.
